Express Spring 2013
Featuring Canadian-born supermodel Jessica Stam, Express (opening soon in Toronto) presented their Spring 2013 collection beginning quite well-styled but ending in a bit of a ‘formal’ disappointment.
Optical illusion prints opened the show with black-and-white stripes contrasted with a pop of colour. The ankle pants were great additions to the collection in both print and solid colours, including a fuchsia-pink done head-to-toe.
As the looks began to verge into the formal field, they peaked our interest, but some seemed dated and unimpressive, particularly a hot pink fitted dress with a black lace overlay. While the styling remained true throughout, some looks were just unable to be enhanced by the effort and lacked in raw appeal.
The show was exciting overall and provided a perfect avenue for the public to see what is being offered at the new location in Toronto. With a sponsor booth (complete with a fun photo shoot area) set up all week at the tents, Express made a name for themselves as a dedicated brand and a new member of the World MasterCard Fashion Week team.
