Warm Up for Summer in Miami
Forget the image of Spring breakers and snow birds, it is possible to have a stylish adult getaway to the sunshine state even before the Art Basel crowds arrive. Great weather, fabulous architecture and good food are all reasons to consider a weekend away to Miami.
Home Away: While the rooms at the Gansevoort Miami Beach Hotel are spacious and the roof top bar worth visiting, we have a soft spot for the more secluded Standard Spa hotel. The manicured grounds, lively poolside scene and world-class spa facilities combine to create a relaxing haven to retreat to when you tire of the hustle of bustle of the city’s hedonistic nightlife scene.
A Good Vintage: Miami is known for its extensive vintage clothing boutiques, and the ones worth visiting include C. Madeleine’s, Angel’s Vintage Boutique and The Rabbit Hole. Whether you’re looking for a good bargain or that perfect ’80s Chanel jacket, there are treasures to be unearthed for everyone.
Take Out: The affordable Toni’s Sushi Bar serves some of the freshest sushi we’ve had in ages, all while perfecting simple Japanese classics such as sunomono. The newly opened Sustain is also worth a visit–this bottled-water free restaurant serves creative dishes made with ingredients sourced within a 50-mile radius of Miami.
