The Society Screens The Rolling Stones: Salt of the Earth
It’s not every evening that we get to screen a rock doc under the stars on a warm-ish summer night with a glass of Jameson, cuddled under a leopard print blanket with two of our besties. This past week the lovely team at
The Society invited FRM to a screening of the behind-the-scenes film The Rolling Stones: Salt of the Earth, which documented almost two years of the legendary rock bands Bigger Bang tour. With unprecedented access to the foursome, Toronto filmmakers Anthony Green and Jacob Cohl, travelled with the band and witnessed firsthand the mass hysteria that followed them throughout the world. During Bigger Bang, the Stones performed on Copacabana beach in Rio De Janerio for reportedly more than 2 million people, rocked the Super Bowl Half Time Show, and, for the first time ever, played an historic show in Shanghai, China. Peppered with amazing concert footage including performances of classic songs like ‘Wild Horses’ and ‘Satisfaction,’ as well exclusive quotes from the men themselves, this doc belongs in every rock lovers collection of DVD’s.
