OUR FAVOURITE THINGS
Four finds to keep you stylish as you lounge this summer
Well into the lazy days of summer, lounging is the activity du jour and one shouldn’t sacrifice well-designed, chic items for hardy creature comforts. Here are some things we won’t be doing without during these hot and hazy days.
1. Forget the fear of falling out of a hammock, we’ll be lounging in a beanbag chair by The Beanbag Boss ($149.99-$179.99). Unlike chairs from the ’80s, these can be shaped in a variety of ways for maximum comfort, and come in a number of colours, and patterns like plaids and even lamé.
2. The Bodum Ceylon pitcher ($19.95-$29.95, available at The Bay and various Williams-Sonoma locations will be at our side, right along with our favourite drink.
3. The tech toy we’re toting to the cottage is the HP TouchPad ($519.99 for 15G and $619.99 for 32GB, available on July 15 at HP Store Vancouver, hpshopping.ca and select retailers). We’re into the webOS operating system, which provides the best multi-tasking experiences, and the ability to support Adobe Flash Player, as well as quality music playback from Beats Audio technology.
4. At the cottage or pool we’ll be drying off with one of the Hudson’s Bay Company Collection Signature Striped Beach Towel ($40, available at The Bay).
For a frozen yogurt fix, you’ll find us at Menchies (511 Bloor St. West & various locations). With a wide variety of flavours—we’re overindulging with the green apple tart flavour and every topping imaginable—this pay-by-the-weight fro-yo has us coming back for more.
