BUDDING TALENT
Sarah Stevenson Spring 2012
Staying true to her signature femininity, Sarah Stevenson presented her Spring 2012 line, on Day 4 of LG Fashion Week, inspired by the spring blossoms in the city of Toronto. “You don’t have to look far, inspiration is all around you,” said Stevenson of her nature-inspired collection. Presented as an installation show in the studio space, Stevenson juxtaposed models with framed art mimicking the patterns in the garments and by using varying forms on gradients with her prints, creating the illusion of falling petals. Lime green butterflies were applied to a white dress, creating a 3D effect, accompanied by a flowing cape covering only the left arm. Models were painted in flirty pink lipstick, with girly braids, completing the floral palette. Hemlines went anywhere from mini to maxi and Stevenson herself was dressed in a piece from the line. With its simple lines and flattering pattern placement, Sarah Stevenson created a line made for a delicate flower of a woman.
