Sarah Stevenson Fall 2011
With prints inspired by the nature and landscape of Lugano, Switzerland (trees, horizons, leaves and even rocks!), making her second appearance at fashion week, Canadian designer Sarah Stevenson’s strength is in her signature abstract prints, which she designs herself. Stevenson showed in the venue’s studio setting, a much different space than last year’s white-clad setting. “I think both studios complemented my shows very well,” said Stevenson, after the show. “The first show was perfect for that setting and this moody, dramatic environment was much better for this one.” Stevenson played with various hemlines from mini to maxi and, in an homage to 1920s Paris, used silks, chiffons and twills to give that signature Sarah Stevenson feminine look.
