RITA LIEFHEBBER SPRING 2011
Toronto native Rita Liefhebber introduced her Spring 2011 collection during the afternoon of the last day at Toronto’s LG Fashion Week, playing with knits and neutrals in the ambient-lit venue. Positioned in a mannequin stance, the models showed off strong vertical lines and colour blending in Liefhebber’s intimate collection, focusing on fashion week’s most popular hues of orange and coral, with hints of earthy tones and sky blue. Loose fits were cinched with belts or scarves and low necklines were accented with gathered bandeaus, while the heeled-worker boot furthered the casual feel of the ensembles. The free-form clothing allows for a breezy Spring wardrobe and mixes the dynamics of body-snug bottoms and open, flowing tops, creating modern curves with a hint of androgyny. Liefhebber brings years of experience to the runway, conquering all three layers of the fashion industry from modeling to writing to designing.
