Casual yet bold, the Fall 2011 collection from Toronto designer Rita Liefhebber consisted of crushed velvet, creamy neutrals and loose lines. Shown at Jonathan + Olivia on Ossington Avenue, Liefhebber introduced 15 new looks featuring masculine cuts and her signature bleeding colours. The casual frocks were accented by velvet necklaces, mimicking several pieces from the line, and stood out strongly against the solid white backdrop of the hip boutique. The over-clothes, including blazers and jackets, emphasized leaner legs and gave the impression of mock gentlemens wear, such as the sleeveless, collared dress over a fully buttoned, loose-fitting blouse. An FRM favourite was the black, high-neckline dress covering a tan button-up. Solid and printed tops were paired with black leggings giving the line an attainable feel.
