AT EASE
Pink Tartan Fall 2011
Toronto fashion mainstay Kim Newport-Mimran debuted her full, Fall 2011 Pink Tartan line with a delicate yet uncouth style. Opening the show with a militaristic feel, models wore army caps and coats and contrasted these looks with flowing pieces, such as a tulle skirt and white feathered bottom. The looks were a style combination of rugged soldier and working woman highlighted in the much murmured-about camouflage tuxedo or the aviation-inspired satin jumpsuits. The earth tones were made brighter by the sheen of the white runway, specially installed for the show, that also brought attention to the vivid fuchsia feathered skirt and buttoned blouse. With a largely androgynous theme, Pink Tartan was able to maintain their femininity in this high-anticipated collection.
