Philip Sparks Fall 2011

Sending models down the sort-of-runway/presentation wall to Mark Ronson at the Burroughes Building last night, Philips Sparks’ collection for Fall 2011 was part proper lady (for the girls, natch), part rustic-chic and all a salute to our fair nation.

Mixed into his requisite wool suiting for the boys, Sparks’ womenswear this season consisted of smart dresses (we loved the long-sleeved, red plaid number), a soft and sweet Maple Leaf motif on sateen (think: blouse, skirt and one killer dress!), as well as a few to-die-for wool toppers, and mountain sheep fuzzy collars. The stand-out for many was the black wool and linen tuxedo, worn with perfect Janelle Monae aplumb. You can bet he’s doing something right, in this his second outing in womenswear, when members of the crowd sigh and say they can’t wait to get their hands on the collection, even while we’re all dying for a little bit of spring!
