OVER THE MOON
To up the affordable style anti, The Bay’s Bonnie Brooks commissioned Mimran Group (think Saul, older brother to Joe ‘Fresh’ Mimran) last fall to create an affordable line of women’s basics, sold exclusively at Canada’s oldest retailer. Now we have Moon Apparel, which also sees Saul’s children Tamara and Jordin behind the reigns, to contend with the contemporary chic and high-end labels the department store has coveted since Brooks took over a few years ago.
Last week to launch Moon, The Bay flew in style icon Leigh Lezark, along with her The Misshapes co-dj’s, for a lofty party in the Liberty Village neighbourhood of Toronto. Attendees included Mimran group’s chief designer Alfred Sung, Amanda Blakely, Ashley Dempster and Martina Stritesky of The Society, ultimate street style photog Tommy Ton, and other various media types.
Moon’s cashmere sweaters, basic but stylish dresses, and outer wear ranges from $19-$139, at The Bay across Canada.
