New York Fashion Week Araks Spring 2011
For Spring, designer Araks Yeramyan showed a collection that manages to be both wearable and challenging, romantic and still thoughtful. Styled by Heathermary Jackson, Araks’ intimate presentation at the Hosfelt Gallery this weekend had models walking amongst fruit clusters and under suspended flower bouquets wearing pastel-colored suits and sheer silk dresses. Crisp collars on see-through blouses and floor-grazing skirts with padded waistlines combine to create a pleasing sense of contradiction and drama, while lower hemlines and sharp tailoring kept the looks ladylike. Sometimes, it really is all in the details!
