L’Wren Scott Presents Spring 2011 at The Room

Multi-hyphenate L’Wren Scott (think: stylist/model/designer) graced The Room at The Bay on Queen Street Tuesday with her Spring 2011 collection, which was dominated by exquisite sequined patterns and flattering fitted figures.

The 6-foot-4-inch fashion icon wore her own sequin pencil skirt with a silk black, semi-tuxedo jacket and instantly garnered the crowd’s attention as she entered the at-capacity cocktail party being held in her honour. Her collection included a many evening wear looks—trained gowns, stunning stitch and bead work—as well as breezy day wear in hot whites and deep royal blues.

Vibrant colours seemed differentiated Scott from the other Spring 2011 collections we’ve seen. Opting for a larger palate, greens and blues were paired together for a feminine peacock effect, while another dress incorporated red fabrics with orange and yellow beadwork to create a sexy, fiery look.

While clothing was the main feature, Scott also displayed her collection of unique shoes and bags, and even showed off a make-up line, a collaboration with high-end beauty brand Lancôme, meant to complement her holiday collection.
