TOP 5 TRENDS FROM LONDON FASHION WEEK
Trends to note from the Spring 2012 collections in London
An ode to our fair cousins in England, here are highlights from London.
Black and White. For those that are adverse to or simply find colour to be a daunting addition to their wardrobe, eye-catching prints were met with an equal amount of designs showcasing the versatility of monochromatic prints.
Ahoy Sailor! Nautical wear makes its way into our wardrobes again this season with navy and white stripes in various forms, like accessories, dresses and tops. If you already have marine-inspired wear, it isn’t a bad idea to hold onto it as a safe go-to next spring.
Asymmetry. Steering clear of the conventional, some designers opted for a more forward-type of look with asymmetry in cut and design.
Eye-catching prints. It’s no surprise that spring and summer bring out a love for colour and prints. Many designers, including Matthew Williamson and Jean Pierre Braganza, opted for abstract prints with hints of floral hues and/or patterns.
For the Boys. With a day dedicated to menswear, a recurrent motif amongst the designs were shorts paired with blazers, illustrating that men won’t be confined to long slacks this upcoming season.
