Laura Siegel Spring 2012
Laura Siegel, a Parsons grad, presented her Spring 2012 collection in the Studio space on Day 2 of LG Fashion Week with a framed runway and a backdrop of disheveled wooden platforms, making way for her neo-boho looks. Each piece featured strong draping of varied lengths and monochromatic shades of white, with the one exception a fabulous green print.
Siegel used rope-style scarves to add volume to the already textured pieces and soft, wispy fabrics to create the earthy, atmospheric movement of the garments. Pieces were generally oversized and cinched where needed to maintain a feminine silhouette and create the illusion of layering. Pieces were tattered and shredded for a stylishly unkempt appearance. And who can go wrong with a great fringed leg warmer? Two words: comfy couture.
