Korhani Home Rug Company Fall 2011
While we wouldn’t normally write about a rug company, combining carpets and couture, Korhani Home Rug hit the runway for day two of fashion week amid plenty of curiosity. How will a rug maker present a fashion show? Quite stylistically, we think! Korhani used each ensemble to emphasize the season’s prints. One rug featuring a “Mad Men”-era feminine outline and was accompanied by a model wearing the rug as a skirt, glimmering jewels and walking two manicured poodles to “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend.” In between sets, different patterns were featured on the big screen and creative, colourful lighting used throughout. Not only were models clothed in renditions of the patterns but a few were even body-painted with the rugs prints. With over four different sets of interpretations of their rugs, Korhani definitely “floored” attendees with their carpet creativity.
