JESSICA JENSEN AND ALEXANDER BERARDI SPRING 2011
When accessories designer Jessica Jensen met NYC-based designer Alexander Berardi this past September at their showroom in the Big Apple, it was a match made in fashion heaven. Thankfully Jensen invited Berardi to show a smattering of his Spring 2011 collection in Toronto for the first time, perfectly complementing Jensen’s basket weave leather goods. Inspired by Jean-Luc Godard’s film Breathless (the soundtrack of which was playing later that eve at The Drake Hotel, Jensen tweeted), the pairing titled ‘A Tribe Called Hamptons’ consisted of limited-edition clutches, dr’s bags and satchel’s, perfectly in tune with Berardi’s sheer Breton stripes, gold-sequined slouchy jogging pants and floor length halter dress, and pinky brown polka dot frocks, all paired with relaxed gold thong sandals, welcoming in an era of easy chic.
