With inspirations from New York City to India, Jenny Bird‘s Spring 2011 jewelry collection features strong stitching, beadwork and flashes of gold. The Toronto-based designer, who has been featured on Gossip Girl, and is carried at Rac Boutique in Toronto and IntermixOnline.com (new stock arrives in May!), credits her time spent in the Big Apple for most of the Bohemian influences throughout the collection, most notably channeling a native feel with her intricately beaded collars, all while maintaining an edgy aesthetic with leather and chain cuffs. Also featured in the latest collection are an Egyptian-inspired gold serpent bangle adorned with Swarovski crystal eyes, a three-band leather bracelet, as well as vibrant items such as the “Hear Me Roar” golden bear bracelet.
“I like the pieces to give my customers ‘permission’ to experiment with their style, push their own limits and gain confidence as a result,” says Bird, who calls the line “easy glam,” and notes that it is a “treasure trove—a collection of jewels you would love to find in the bottom of the ocean during your St. Barths getaway.”
