KINGDOM OF SHADOWS
Jayne Pierson Fall 2011
With either centuries past or centuries forward seemingly being the central themes of this London Fashion Week’s numerous collections, Welsh born designer Jayne Pierson brought the two ideas together in her Fall 2011 collection, “Kingdom of Shadows.” Her close fitting silhouettes were accentuated with the use of a variety of textures and textiles, such as lace, wool, and leather. The highlight of Pierson’s collection, to us, was featured early in the show—a leather piece featuring an asymmetrical zipper along the shoulder, that continued down the arm.
