URBAN WARRIOR

Greta Constantine & Ezra Constantine Fall 2011

The Fall 2011 Greta Constantine collection was “designed
for the modern woman who transcends space and time,”
said designers Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong, the twosome, behind the label. Once again hosted at the Downtown Audi Dealership, the Ezra Constantine menswear line featured exposed fronts and lengthy trains, both casual and formal at the same time, while the Greta Constantine woman was draped in fringe wool, kimono jackets and Orient-inspired adornments. With the industrial feel of the venue mimicking the look and feel of the fabric (in a palette of slate, charcoal and mushroom), the flashes of colour in the womenswear took place with deep eggplant and crimson, while the menswear stayed true to the designer-dubbed “urban nomad” style with an interesting take on the crew-neck T-Shirt, playing with anoff-the-shoulder look for the boys. Pieces for both men and women included the duo’s signature thick draping, as well a clear trend for the upcoming season:
velvet embellishments.
