SHOOTING ON THE STREETS
Fujifilm’s latest cameras for snapping style at fashion week
LG Fashion Week has finally descended onto the streets of Toronto and amongst the well-dressed and well-heeled are photographers and aspiring street shooters. Fujifilm recently unveiled this season’s latest cameras, and we picked three of our favourites. Whether you are still starting out or are a seasoned pro, happy snapping!
1. Fujifilm FinePix HS20EXR ($499.99) is for someone who is ready to take a step up from a regualr point-and-shoot, but is looking for an alternative to a DSLR. This camera is perfect for picking up details in accessories or textiles as the 30X wide angle Fujinon lens shoots as close as 1cm Super Macro, without needing to swap in an additional lens. There are also full manual controls for shutter and aperture priority, as well as Motion Panora 360 degree Shooting mode for catching the atmosphere outside the show.
2. The Fujifilm FinePix X100 ($1,199.99) is for the already savvy photog who is looking for some style cred themselves with its throwback design. The camera body is made up of a magnesium alloy for the top cover and bottom surface of the camera to mirror the classic finishes of traditional film cameras, while accessories include a custom leather strap and case. The high-performance camera captures crisp, clear images at 12.3 Megapixels, in part due to the CMOS High-Performance Sensor which was developed exclusively for the X100 model.
3. Fujifilm FinePix F550EXR ($349.99) is great for the first time street style shooter. The compact super-zoom camera will easily fit into your tiny clutch and at 16 Megapixels, this version also has HD Movie capture abilities (at 1080p). Snaps taken from a distance will be far from pixilated when you blow them up and the Dual Image Stabilization ensures blur-free photos, while you run if you’ve spoted a pair of this season’s Prada flatforms. The EXR-CMOS Sensor and EXTR Processor keeps images sharp and clear in all lighting conditions so a cloudy day or dark runway won’t ruin your pics.
