FRANCE, JE T’AIME
For some reason we’ve recently been reveling in all things Française. Think: Marion Cotillard, Christian Dior haute couture, La Vie En Rose and Bensimon sneakers. Naturally we jumped at the chance to see La Lingerie Française fashion show this week, featuring looks from France’s top lingerie labels Simone Perele, Empriente, Lise Charmel and more. Newly appointed to the Canadian Opera Company, Ambur Braid took us through the streets of Paris with a joyful rendition of ‘Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend’ (with a little ‘Material Girl’ thrown in for good measure, of course), while dancers, en pointe in the first segment, and models preened and pranced down the runway. Also in attendance at Wychwood Barns for the steamy (quite literally!) presentation were, photographer Caitlin Cronenberg, designer Brandon Dwyer and actors Kristin Booth, Erin Karpluk, Adamo Ruggiero and John Ralston.
