OUR FAVE THINGS

Mother’s Day is only a few short days away—May 9th to be exact. Spoil your mum with a charm bracelet from the Thomas Sabo Charm Club. Our favourite charms are the colourful palm tree, flip flops, bird and flower from the Tropical Collection.

With the iconic Jo Malone boxes lining many a girl’s apartment or studio space (we use ours to help store business cards and pens and pencils), it was only a matter of time before the British brand collaborated with a home decor company. Teaming up with another Brit staple, Farrow & Ball, each limited edition Jo Malone colour candle, out May 1st, has been paired up with F&B colour to help make decorating your space as luxurious as it should be. We’re partial to the Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin ($75), as it is their signature scent. Also available in Wild Fig & Cassis, Blue Agava & Cocoa, Grapefruit and Pomegranate Noir ($75 each), at the Farrow & Ball Showroom (1054 Yonge Street, Toronto), as well as Farrow & Ball stockists and Holt Renfrew locations across Canada.

Having a natural olive skin tone, we are a sucker for a little bit of a tan. But knowing what we know now regarding skin cancer and the damaging effects of the sun, we’ve traded in tan lines for tanning creams. And we’ve tried them all, believe us! So we were excited to see the results of a new self tanner by Nuxe when we tested out the body and face creams earlier this month. Nuxe Soliel Prodigieux Beautifying Self-Tanning Face Cream ($32, 40ml) and Body Lotion ($34, 100ml) went extremely natural and produced an instant and surprisingly even glow. The face cream even contains the anti-aging Jasmine blossom, which helps protect against and neutralize free radicals, and both products are alcohol and paraben free and contain 89 percent natural ingredients. Available at The Bay, Ogilvy (Quebec) and select drugstores across Canada.

We love for anything from Brave Beltworks, but we fell hard for the new Oren ($75) studded leather cuff and the all black Botan ($70) leather cuff. They’re the perfect balance for a girlie summer wardrobe.

Barbie may be on everyone’s minds these days, what with her turning 50 last year and all, and as much as we’d love to add the Assouline clothbound and handmade Ultimate Barbie ($500) book to our coffee table, we’re more inclined to pick up the Ultimate Verushka ($550) instead. Who couldn’t stare at such beauty on paper every single day?
