Essence of Argan

LIQUID GOLD

Essence of Argan is a do-it-all beauty must-have

Hailing from Morocco, Essence of Argan ($44.99, 15 mL; $92.99, 30 mL; $114.00, 50 mL) is quickly becoming our go-to product. While we’ve seen argan oils popping up in multiple hair and skincare products in the last few years, we’re now smitten with Essence, a 100 percent, pure organic, cold-pressed Moroccan argan oil. Known as “liquid gold,” the oil is fast absorbing and we’ve been using it for its deep moisturizing effects on our hair, scalp and skin. Full of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, ferulic acids and vitamin E, the oil is thought to help heal damaged skin and hair, as well as to protect skin from free radicals. A new essential in our beauty bag, the smaller size is perfect for traveling—just in time for our summer getaways.

We’ve been using Essence of Argan Oil for about a year. We have been smitten by it too.  Great for hair, skin, and nails.

i have bought USDA approved pure argan oil for $20  (30ml) and it is equally good. What is the difference with this brand and why is the price so hefty?

argan oil is made in Morocco- and certified ECO CERT by reputable providers… ECO Cert is the highest GLOBAL designation for organic… IE certified at source.  USDA Organic means certified in the US… not at source – so you can not be 100% sure if it is in fact even Argan oil – or olive oil… or a blend of both.  Tricky, right?

USDA would provide its stamp for a product that is a mix of argan or olive oil and say it is organic and meets the quality requirements for argan oil??? Not really. My contention is with the hefty price. Josie Maran Cosmetics also sells pure argan oil for $58 for 50 ml and there are various other brands that claim they are 100% organic,  eco certified, from Morocco etc and sell at a lesser price. Mylumee Naturale in Toronto @ $32 for 50 ml. I dont want to be ripped off in the name of eco certification that might be as good or bad. Who knows? If Essence of argan tells me what it is that makes them different, I am willing to buy their product as I am convinced with what little I have used,  it is a great product to use on the skin.
