Combining classic elegance and sex appeal, Duy presented his fall 2011 collection opening with a jaw dropping full-length lace gown. Paying homage to British heiress Daphne Guinness with fitted dresses, tailored suits and touches of fur, Duy used texturized wools, mohair and dramatic animal prints to imitate her style. The deeply coloured frocks were paired with lace facial appliques on the models, and attractive silhouettes materialized under the soft, subdued lighting. Titled “Long Live Daphne,” the collection marks the second time Duy has collaborated with Aldo shoes and accessories, expanding the show this season to include gloves, bags and belts. “Capturing [Daphne's] refined eroticism and radical chic,” Duy presented a versatile line, work and evening-ready.
