DR.MARTEN CELEBRATES 50 YEARS

Last week we were taken on a little trip down a sartorial memory lane. Back in our Catholic high school days, we were forced to wear a uniform, dress-shirt, cardigan, kilt and all. Our only respite from lack of original clothing was footwear, and being a little bit rock ‘n’ roll, we proudly sported three hole cherry Dr. Marten’s with our grey and burgundy grade 9 uniform. While making the media rounds, fellow bloggers and reporters were all able to see some classic Dr. Marten styles, as well as some stylish updates. Some new looks even sport the classic Cherry and Black colours in an ode to their 50th Anniversary on April 1st.We were quite happy with what we saw. Always a brand to appeal to many different personalities (there were Mary Jane-inspired heels, like the Diva Danielle and Darcie versions shown here, and a slouchy construction boot, with a plaid lining begging to be shown), Dr. Marten appeals to punk rocker’s, fashionista’s and mom’s with little edge.
