DESIGNER ON THE RISE

Augustin Teboul

Officially premiering their line at Berlin Fashion Week this past January, the ladies behind Augustin Teboul, Odély Teboul and Annelie Augustin are quickly becoming “ones to watch.” Before deciding to found their own label in late 2010, Teboul and Augustin entered a competition hosted by the Féderation française du prêt-à-porter feminine in which they were awarded le grand prix createur de dinard femme. In addition, the two were also crowned winners of the Halbtagsjob 2010 competition in Berlin.

The two complement each other with contrasting personalities that judges and critics applauded—Odély’s taste lean towards chaos and nostalgia, and Annelie’s toward minimalism and the avant-garde—and prompted the need to start their own line. For their first collection, titled “Little Redhead,” Odély notes, “we were inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, but wanted to put a spin on it.” Showcasing designs that highlighted intricate lacework and supple leathers, the duo achieved a sense of nostalgia derived from the fairytale, all the while achieving a mature and contemporary Augustin Teboul woman.

The pair is currently working on their next collection, which will show at Berlin Fashion Week in July.
