Corrie Nielsen Fall 2011
Titled “A Winter’s Melodie,” Corrie Nielsen’s Fall 2011 collection delighted guests with Elizabethan inspired silhouettes, infused with influences of post-war French haute couture. Black dominated much of the colour palette, though hints of navy, turquoise, and burgundy were seen, highlighting Neilsen’s talented technique in pleating and ruffling. The voluminous and textural plays on design towards the end of the collection demonstrated not only Nielsen’s ability to draw from the past, but more importantly to show her inspiration in a modern context.
