FLASH GORDON
Chloé comme Parris Fall 2011
Instantly recognizable for their interesting use of trains and coattails, Chloé comme Parris showed their Fall 2011 collection complete with shapely cutouts, buckles and backpacks. The show went from drool-worthy to jaw-dropping when models appeared donned in shimmering silver necklaces draped diagonally across their bodies hinting at designer Parris Gordon’s background in jewelry design (She studied with her sister and co-designer Chloé at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design). Deep hues were used to contrast the shine of the metallics and large-hole knitted sweaters added thick depth to the silhouettes. A memorable show for its flash, including that of one necklace breaking over the runway, fashion week newcomers (they debuted last fall with their Spring 2011 wares) Chloé comme Parris are sure to remain a key player on the Toronto style scene.
