HIGH SOCIETY

La Société brings Paris to Bloor Street at Toronto’s latest hotspot

“Can’t actually recall last time there was such heft of buzz for a resto opening hereabouts,” tweeted Shinan Govani, the social columnist for The National Post, on the opening night party for La Société, which included guests such as Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong of Greta Constantine, writer Andrew Sardone, designer Philip Sparks, Ainsley Kerr, and So You Think You Can Dance Canada‘s Blake McGrath. Stepping into the wood paneled room with mosaic tiled floors, stained glass ceiling and hand painted windows, we were instantly reminded of our favourite European city, Paris. With a seafood bar in the corner dishing out everything from oysters to lobsters, the menu has bistro standbys like cassoulet, steak frites and a classic French onion soup. Don’t forget to pick up a drink at the bar—our favourite is the refreshing French mule, a take on the traditional Moscow mule.
