Greta Constantine Fall 2012

Designing with the Greta Constantine woman in mind, Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong added a harder edge to their latest (almost all black) collection. Save for a few white, red, teal and amazingly emerald green frocks, the collection consisted of lots of black wool blend structured power dresses, a few stand out chunky knits bibs, snoods and a cropped sweater, as well as to-die-for metallic harnesses, all perfect for an upcoming starlet like Rooney Mara. Inspired by Margaret Atwood’s Brenda in the futuristic The Year of the Flood, Badanjak sent strictly coiffed ladies down the runway in a grey-to-black-and-back ombré tweed skirt suit, a feather-print crepe dress with a peplum, a cobweb knit floor-length dress and a feather-bodiced, micro-sequined tiered gown.

The womanly show, with pops of cerulean blue, red and python print, was clearly where Badanjak took inspire for the newly re-launched Basch label, previously designed by Brandon Dwyer. Read More…
