Discover the worlds of Cristóbal Balenciaga and Rei Kawakubo

Although the Galleria Museum in Paris is not set to re-open its doors until next spring, the museum continues its widely popular “outside of its walls” programming. Highlighting two incredibly different, yet equally important, designers – Cristóbal Balenciaga of his eponymous line and Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons – the Galleria showcases the differences in the possibilities of innovative fashion. The two exhibitions can be viewed together at the Docks-Cité de la Mode et du Design until October 7th, 2012.

The Met presents “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations”

The much-awaited exhibition– “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversation” –by the The Met’s Costume Institute has finally opened its doors to the public. Drawing inspiration from caricaturist and art historian Miguel Covarrubias’ “Impossible Interviews” series for Vanity Fair, the exhibit explores the striking differences and similarities between the two Italian designers. Divided into seven themed galleries, the Met takes guests through a total of six decades’ worth of approximately 90 designs and 30 accessories. The exhibit runs until August 19th, 2012.
