SPRING SOIREE

This past Wednesday FrontRowMag was honoured to co-host Get Glam for A Cause with Guess By Marciano, co-hosted by Ainsley Kerr, event specialist for Rethink Breast Cancer, at the Guess Eaton Centre location. Over 200 guests sipped on wine and Fiji water, and nibbled on snacks, on the extremely warm May evening, while shopping for a great a cause. Attendees at the invite only event, most of whom walked away with stuffed-to-the-brim shopping totes, donated $5 to Rethink Breast Cancer and received an amazing 20 percent off their Guess by Marciano purchase, just in time for summer. Designer Ashley Rowe, jewelry maven Shay Lowe, Lindsay Lorimer-Stewart of Guess and Anokhi editor in chief Hina Ansari were among the crowd.

Mango Studios plays host to our last ScotiaBank Contact Photography Festival stop

As the month long Contact 2010 comes to an end, we were delighted to pop by Mango one warm evening decided to surround ourselves one last time with some spectacular pieces.

We found ourselves drawn to Nancy Costa’s Untitled Series, where a ghost image on a glass transfer was resting over the black and white retro-inspired images. Mo Govimndji’s retro-dessert shots of low-hung houses, palm trees and vintage cars wer made even more sleek with the shiny, resin coating added on top of the prints. And taking a more fashionable approach Zach Hertzman’s Synedoche series featured haunting images of a woman, blunt bangs and sleek hair, eyes always closed or hidden, wearing dramatic statements necklaces and earrings. On until May 31st, 2010.
